Welcome to BDRUK

Blind Dog Rescue UK is a small charity dedicated to the rescue and rehoming of blind and partially sighted dogs. We work with rescuers throughout Europe to save, provide urgent veterinary assistance for, and find these dogs forever homes in the UK.

We always need foster homes in the UK. As a foster you will help our most vulnerable dogs, allowing them to come to the UK to live with you until they find their forever home.

Laddie is one of our Sponsor only dogs in forever foster. Bruichladdich or Laddie for short is a large Doberman.

Many of our dogs are rescued and brought to foster families in the UK where they receive treatment for any ailments and learn to live in a family home. We fund veterinary treatment, flea and wormers, food, supplements and anything else that is required by our foster dogs to ensure they get back to full health and fitness.

Lovely Lucky⭐️
Lucky is an older boy around 10 years old. He is partially sighted, weighs 20 kgs and is currently in private shelter in Bosnia.

Kept on a chain in the yard his whole life Lucky hasn’t had much luck, but hopefully that is about to change. His previous owner sold his house and was just going to leave him to fend for himself in the woods. Thankfully a local rescuer intervened, and Lucky is now safe and looking for a loving home.

Lucky has been checked by a vet and is in good health. He is blind in one eye due to cataracts and the other eye shows an early stage of cataracts. Lucky has a medium energy level and is happy to wear a collar and harness. He is pretty good on a lead, but this is a new experience for him so his lead training may need some further work.

Despite living on a chain, Lucky isn’t much of a guard dog, he’s not the bravest soul and really wants to be a loved companion. He’s scared of thunder and loves hugs.

Lucky is a beautiful boy with his fawn coat and his floppy tipped ears. He has scars on his face possibly from a dog attack, but despite his past, Lucky is kind and cheerful. He loves people and is good with children. He is good with other dogs and shows little interest in cats.

Gorgeous Uno ✨
Uno is a beautiful cat with stunning blue eyes born around June 2024. He is fully sighted but is deaf, which does not stop him enjoying life and sharing his love. Uno is currently in foster in Macedonia.

Uno is playful, adorable and charming. He was found meowing loudly on the streets, hanging out with other street cats that he loves - his guides & friends. He was fed every day by his rescuer and other kind people. However he was still out on the streets where anything could happen to him - from poisoning to cars accidents.

Uno often went missing for days, as soon as he reappeared or was found, he greeted his rescuer with joy, meowing loudly, asking for cuddles and food as he was famished. He was taken to the vet, who confirmed that he was deaf. He was then taken to safety, as his rescuer couldn’t bear for this beautiful boy to get lost or be in danger again.

Uno does not think he is different from any other cat and absolutely loves his life. He is good with other cats and will hopefully be tested with dogs soon.

Uno needs to be loved and to give love. In addition to cuddles and playing, his favourite pastime during the day is watching people, birds and movements outside through the window. He really is a very special boy.

His rescuer is hoping there is someone out there who can provide him with care and love that he needs and to give him a long, healthy and happy life.

Uno is vaccinated, microchipped, FIV/FELV negative and ready to find his loving forever family.

Adorable Silki😍
Silki is a sweet blind older gentleman (born approximately 2016) and weighs 7kgs. This loving little soul could be someone's perfect companion, and deserves to find his safe haven.

Silki was found scared and roaming the streets of Skopje, Macedonia. It’s likely he was just abandoned and left to fend for himself. Luckily he was rescued and taken to the public shelter with the hope that he may have a chance to being adopted into a loving home. Unfortunately, dogs with special needs are often overlooked and so far no one has shown any interest in this gorgeous little one. The shelter conditions are not a great place for an older blind dog, and although he has shown immense resilience Silki has now been taken into a foster home.

Silki has settled quickly into a foster environment and is already house trained and lead trained. He is just adorable. Silki is a friendly boy who loves a fuss and enjoys being around people. He’s really happy to cuddle up on the sofa and maybe dreams of being an adored lapdog.

Silki is probably blind due to cataracts and has lost a few teeth, but is in good health. He is good with other dogs. Due to his lack of sight he does need a gentle proper introduction to other dogs. Silki hasn’t been tested with cats yet.

Silki is looking for a calm, quiet home where he can feel safe. An understanding patient person/family who is ready to spend time with him giving him the care and attention he really deserves and may never have had. He really enjoys human affection and company and is waiting to be your best friend.

Although Thor is a Husky, we suspect he is also descended from The Honey Monster.

He’s an awesome, kingly beast full of joy, life and love. Born around 2014, blind and in a private shelter in Bosnia, whoever adopts Thor is unlikely to suffer a bad mental health day ever again.

Thor has a confident passion for belly-rubs, cuddles, and clumsy, fluffy affection. He’s an undeniably loveable chap with that grinning face, ridiculously impressive candy-floss tail and playful tip-tappy, hop, skip and jump energy.

His cool frosty eyes are really the only giveaway of his age. (The vet has confirmed Thor’s blindness is due to cataracts). Thor is a senior guy, but one of those active, happy types with amazing energy and who can pass for younger. Thor certainly gives age a run for its money.

Little is known of Thor’s early life, but as a pure breed it is likely he was somebody’s pet. Sadly, Thor was abandoned, probably when he lost his sight. It is not known for how long he sat patiently at the side of the road where he was left, waiting for his owner to return. Eventually he was taken to a private shelter.

Thor still adores people, and although he loves the staff at the shelter, he would love to have the opportunity to shower a new person, couple or family with affection again, and be loved in return.

Thor is good with other dogs. Like most blind dogs, he needs careful introductions and doesn’t appreciate being jumped on or bounded up to without a proper hello. He has learned to be respectful of other dogs’ space as he appreciates it for himself now but is accustomed to mixing with dogs at the shelter. Most of all, though, it’s human love he wants.

Thor is still active and would love a garden to leap around in, working that tail. He could be an only dog or live with other calm, respectful or maybe older dog(s).

Beautiful Bella💕
Born around June 2023, Bella is described as a “really sweet companion”. She weighs just over 11kgs, is partially sighted and is currently in Serbia.

Bella was rescued from a kill shelter and was very poorly. She fought for her life for almost a month and is now a happy, healthy girl. Sadly as a consequence of her previous ill health she lost some sight in both eyes, but she’s not letting that hold her back.

Bella suits her name as she’s a pretty lady with her white coat, floppy ears and dark eyes. She has a really nice and gentle character. Due to her weak eyesight, Bella can sometimes be a little bit timid, however she’s easy going and friendly. She reacts very well to people and enjoys their company and a cuddle.

Bella adapted very quickly to living in a home environment and is house trained. She enjoys taking naps and relaxing in her bed and has a medium to low energy level, playing gently when the mood takes her. Bella shares her home with lots of dogs and gets on well with them and has never been a problem. We do not know how she is with cats.

Bella has been introduced to a collar and harness and making progress with her lead training. This is a new experience for her so she’s still a little unsure. It is likely that Bella will need further support and training in this area.

Bella’s rescuer is hoping she will find a gentle and loving family. Someone who will love her deeply and give her a happy and fulfilled life. Someone who can show Bella that life can be a great adventure with so many positive sides - she really deserves it.

Bella would love a home with a garden, where she can be part of the family. She can live with other dogs.

Marvellous Mickey 😍
Mickey is a loveable, friendly chap who is around a year old (born 2024). He’s only a little one weighing 7kg, but is full of love. Micky is partially sighted and is currently in Macedonia.

Mickey was a stray dog who was collected by a public shelter to be neutered. Unfortunately, he was not vaccinated and while in the shelter he was diagnosed with distemper. Luckily it was caught early and he received medical treatment, the only consequence is that he is partially sighted (with a blue blurry eye).

That's all in the past and Mickey is now thriving! He enjoys life and doing the same things as any normal healthy dog. His adorable face will instantly put a smile on your face. His character is wonderful - he has tons of love to share with everyone he meets. He is very cuddly and playful and he loves giving kisses.

Mickey has a medium energy level and has started his lead training, although this does need further work. He’s good with other dogs. Mickey has been successfully cat tested. He was a little apprehensive so kept his distance. He should be able to live with cats who are respectful of his space. We don’t know if Mickey previously lived in a home, but at the shelter he sleeps in a bed in his pen.

Mickey is an incredibly friendly and sociable dog, known for his calm nature and gentle interaction with dogs, adults and children. He loves contact with people and is looking to find a home with a lov-ing family willing to share lots of hugs and life moments with him.

Mickey would like a home with a garden, where he can be part of the family and share all his love with you.

MAX! The most beautiful dog in the BDRUK pack?

He’s a rare black German Shepherd, 34kg, born c. 2013 (which means he should still have a few good years
ahead of him given the longevity of his breed); in good health, active, fully sighted, and a lovely, friendly well-behaved boy.

Max’s life in Serbia has been pretty sad. He was owned by someone but kept in disgusting conditions. His owner then gave up on him completely. Max was out on the street. Next he was roughly seized by the dog catchers. Thankfully he was rescued and now lives in a private shelter in Serbia.

Despite years of squalor, hardship and neglect, Max hasn’t given up on people. He loves them. He’s a friendly, affectionate boy.

Max really isn’t asking for much. He likes attention, love, and he likes walks, and he likes a rest. It’s not complicated.

Although he’s a larger breed, Max is not a difficult dog to manage. He is not boisterous and playful. He knows how to walk on a lead and walks well. He is fully housetrained and has always maintained his nice clean manners in the shelter.

Max is good with other dogs, but not unduly bothered by them. He tends to approach other dogs, sniff and move on. We don’t know how Max is with
cats. (He doesn’t much like travelling in the car, as he can get a bit sick).

And, we know it’s not all about looks, but… those ears, that shiny nose, that noble wolfy gait, lovely mane, and that tongue! And the attentive, desperate-to-please way he sits and looks… how is everyone not in love with him?!

Teddy is a survivor - when he was just six weeks old, he was hit by a car. He was found alone, cold but alive on the road and was rushed to the vet. Despite his terrible start in life, Teddy fought back from his accident, but was unfortunately left with reduced sight, hearing and sense of smell.

Teddy has grown up and is a quiet, easy going, happy boy. He is good with people and can walk on a lead. Teddy is living in a foster home with other dogs and enjoys their company. He is also good with cats. Teddy sleeps inside, but like many dogs of his breed he spends most of his time outdoors during the day.

His rescuer is hoping Teddy will find an understanding forever home who can provide him with love and security.

MAEVE (MAVIS) 😍

Adoption or Foster sought for Mavis (or Maeve as she likes to be known), a natty little dog of 9kg, fully sighted, born in 2019 and currently in Essex.

Maeve is an ex-street dog turned dainty pet.

She started life in Romania but was adopted through BDRUK in 2023. She’s had a great time with her adopter (a single lady) and been a really good girl, but due to a change in her adopter’s health and circumstances, the lady feels it would be best for Maeve if we found her a new home. Ideally a forever home, but a fosterer who is willing to work on her dog reactivity would also be wonderful.

‘Maeve is an independent Madam’, her owner says, explaining that she is very happy being left for 4 hours or so, settling well, pottering around the house, playing with her favourite squeaky toys, sleeping all night, fully housetrained, snuggling in her blanket and presenting no trouble at all.
She’s cuddly too!

Maeve would need to be an only dog. She is still showing fear and reactivity when she sees or hears dogs out and about on walks. It is thought that with careful training this might be overcome.

Maeve likes people and has her favourites, those she takes to especially. She prefers gentle introductions; in fact she prefers to be left to come over and introduce herself in her own time. She has been great with visiting children.

Maeve currently shares a home with an outdoors cat but never comes into contact with it. would chase an unknown cat given the opportunity.

Uka is around 2 years old (born 2023) and is partially sighted. She’s a little lady weighing 10 kgs and is currently in Bosnia.

Uka was found skinny and struggling in the public shelter. She was removed by her rescuer and originally named Uske which means the “one with the big ears” in Bosnian. With her white coat, expressive dark eyes and her amazing ears - Uka is absolutely stunning.

After her experience in the public shelter, Uka was initially worried being around people, but that's all in the past, she soon relaxed and is now a happy, friendly girl. Uka is described as playful and cheerful. She would love to be a lap dog and loves human affection and touch. Uka adores people and is very happy to meet and play with people.

Uka is living in a foster home and is comfortable in a home environment. Uka is fine to wear a collar and harness and travels well in a car. She has a medium energy level and can walk on a lead but needs a little more training in this area. Uka is good with other dogs and is currently living with 16 other dogs. It is not known how she is with cats, but she will hopefully be cat tested soon.

Uka has been examined by a vet, has been neutered and is in good health. She has no sight in one eye, possibly due to being hit in that eye, but her other eye is fine. Uka would now love to find her family – a home where people are energetic and cheerful, as she loves to interact with people.

Nesta (was Nala) 🎉

An adorable blind Spanish Mastin cross, Nesta was born in 2023, and is 25kg (although it is likely she still has some growing to do). She is fostered in Cheshire.

Nesta was found wandering the streets of Hellin, Spain. She was mercifully rescued into a Spanish foster home where she lived with another dog and lots of cats, all of whom became her friends. Currently she enjoys three other blind dogs as companions.

Nesta knows and responds to her name, has excellent recall, is fully house trained and is very polite and sociable with other dogs. Her personality is gentle and tender, and she wants to be loved very much. Nesta seeks out her human, follows them around and sits loyally with her head in their lap.

Outdoors Nesta enjoys running free like a typical puppy loving life. Her puppyish enthusiasm does mean she can be clumsy sometimes; she loves goofing around ragging a tea towel! The right adopters will find her idiosyncratic quirks and traits endearing – the slightly odd gait to her walk, her preference for turning always to the right.

Given her difficult start in life, it is understandable that Nesta is a little nervous. She has always been wary of men and although she lives in a female-only home currently she has responded well to increasing exposure to men out and about. Her fosterer is confident she could live with men as well as women just as long as the right adopters are prepared give her time to trust.

Nesta will take time to settle in a new environment, perhaps spinning or showing signs of stress and anxiety in her new environment initially. Her fosterer is working on her fear of vehicles, gently giving her time in the car every day. Nesta’s response when scared is never aggression or defensiveness: her default is to back off or attempt to flee. Nesta has responded excellently to training.

She currently lives in a quiet, rural home and would prefer to be around fewer vehicles.. She would like a fairly active household with experience of large breeds and can live with other dogs and cats.

Joyful Joey😍
Joey is a very friendly, partially sighted boy. He was born in 2021, weighs around 20kgs and is currently in private shelter in Bosnia.

Joey used to live at a gas station in the city with his friend Lada, before they were taken to an awful shelter which was later closed by the authorities. Luckily they were rescued and taken to a private shelter. Lada has already found her forever home and Joey is hoping it’s his turn next.

Joey is real sweetheart – he loves children, adults and dogs. He shares his living space with multiple dogs and never causes a problem. He is happy to sleep and play with the other dogs, currently he prefers to eat separately. He been successfully cat tested, behaving beautifully and saying hello with a gentle sniff and a wagging tail.

Joey is well behaved around children and adults. So far, he’s not a playful dog that will go chasing after a ball, but he has probably never had the opportunity to learn to play with people. However he does like getting strokes and cuddles and enjoys being around people wagging his whole body when you talk to him.

Joey walks well on his harness and lead and is friendly to other dogs when meeting them on walks. He has a medium energy level and matches his pace to whomever is walking him. He would be happy to go out for walks with his family.

Joey maybe missing an eye, but he is always happy to say hello, wagging his tail and giving his love to everyone. While he has never lived in a home before, he’s a very good boy and would love the chance to learn all about the joy of home comforts and being part of a family.

Lucy (was Maxine)! 😍

Lucy is a very beautiful and unusual looking dog with her curly coat, fluffy cheeks and magical amber eyes.

Born in 2018, fully sighted and weighing 16kg, she is thought to be a Pulini cross. Originally rescued from the streets of Serbia, Lucy is beginning to show her patient, sweet and charming character in her foster home in Cornwall.

She has recently changed her name from Maxine to Lucy, which she definitely prefers.

Lucy is a sensitive girl; she takes time to trust and will probably always be a little timid in a new space. She bonds closely with her primary carer from the start, tends to be a little shier with men and children, and feels initially nervous when new people come to the house.

Despite Lucy’s timidity (which is almost certainly due to experiences in her past life as a street dog) it doesn’t take her long to show herself as the sweet, human-orientated dog that she is. Lucy loves a cuddle, an ear-scratch and a chin-scratch. She will do that adorable thing of pressing her head into you to receive the attention. She loves a brush. She is attentive and loving and would make a lovely companion dog; it is likely she will always choose one special person with whom she feels especially safe.

Lucy is housetrained and walks beautifully on a lead.

Currently Lucy shares a home with 20 cats and 10 dogs. She’s brilliant with cats; she enjoys playing with the other dogs and she copies and learns from them too. She shares happily and has no food aggression, and sleeps though the night with the rest of the pack.

Lucy would like a quieter household, probably adult-only, although we would consider older, respectful and calm children present. Bobi was living on the streets, when he was found injured and taken to safety. While he recovered he briefly lived in a home and was very good - clean and well mannered. He is used to wearing a collar and can wear a harness.

Bobi is a happy, friendly soul who is good with other dogs and is usually good with cats. He loves some fuss and is a healthy, active young boy.

Bobi was living on the streets, when he was found injured and taken to safety. While he recovered he briefly lived in a home and was very good - clean and well mannered. He is used to wearing a collar and can wear a harness.

Born in 2023, blind, and weighing 23kg, he’s currently living in Leicestershire but is looking for a new home due to his owner’s change in circumstances.

Thomas is described as ‘the most loving and gentle dog’: he enjoys sharing his current home with cats, humans and another dog with special needs.

Thomas has been living in his current home for a year, and in that time has proved extremely smart and trainable. He loves learning new commands; loves handling, and being active with his owner and would be a great candidate for agility. He already has his recall down pat, as well as several other commands and routines. He has a medium energy level physically, but benefits from a higher level of mental stimulation and activity. He’s a clever boy, and very food-motivated, so easy to work with!

Rocky is a polite, retired German Shepherd gentleman with a wry sense of humour. He weighs 30kg, was born in 2016, and is currently fostered in Coventry.

Rocky walks beautifully on the lead; accepting a head collar willingly so he's easy to walk. Rocky is sedate, considerate and rarely pulls. Having worked for most of his life as a security dog for a business in Spain, Rocky has been carefully trained and is sociable, friendly and calm when meeting people. He accepts his treats very politely, travels beautifully in the car, and is quiet and restrained in the house (except when he plays, and then he is very vocal!).

Rocky is clever and slightly mischevious and makes his fosterer laugh every day with his antics. He likes to steal the things she leaves lying around and then bring them over to show her. Rocky loves to be involved in everything that is going on and would happily do activities such as scent training and obedience. His love of food makes training even easier!

Rocky loves to be around his humans, but can become anxious and bark when he is not around them, or when they are closeby but not in reach.

Although retired, Rocky is healthy, active, playful and very mobile; not showing any signs of slowing down. He was retired because he has Pannus (inflammation of the cornea). This is easily managed with eye drops and ointment (approximately £56 per month) and does not stop Rocky living a full life. Rocky would love to accompany you on lovely long walks and adventures. As he is very sensitive to having his claws clipped and has needed sedation previously, pavement walking would be very helpful!

Tiggy is a small female kitten that was found abandoned, she approached the rescuers by herself and immediately started petting and purring.

They immediately noticed that both of her hind legs were paralyzed, with sores all over, meaning she had been left to fend for herself for some time. She was taken to the vet and an X-ray was done showing that due to some kind of accident, she had 2 broken vertebrae. For that reason, Tiggy is incontinent and needs to be expressed regularly.

Apart from this flaw, Tiggy is a wonderful kitten who is friendly with both cats and dogs, and most of all with people. She loves to be cuddled and to be around people.

Kathy (born 2022, 14kg, fully sighted and currently in private boarding in Macedonia) doesn’t get much attention, nor many shares.

Maybe because she’s an ordinary-looking dog with no particular stand-out features: plain brown and black, a bit gangly, a bit scruffy, a bit houndy, and maybe a bit sad looking.

But actually she is quite amazing; a survivor of a terrible start in life who has blossomed into a perfect playful, happy youngster. Definitely worth a second look…

Kathy was rescued from living on the end of a chain. She was kept outside in all conditions with minimal comforts, malnourished, deprived and neglected. Now she has been properly cared for and experienced living in a home environment, she has put on a little weight, loves human affection, could be stroked for ever and has tons of love to give. When she smiles she is anything but ordinary!

Kathy loves to play and has found her lively inner puppy now that she has her freedom. She adores going out on walks. She jumps excitedly into the car and travels beautifully and very calmly (and with a big smile on her face). Kathy also loves children.

Kathy is great with other dogs and would be best rehomed with other dog(s) as she prefers not to be left alone at the moment. She has successfully met and cohabited with cats, but we would suggest cats are dog-savvy as she likes to play chase and may chase cats if they run.

Gorgeous Chopper 💫
Chopper is around 6 years old (as of September 2024), weighs 18kg and is blind. He is currently in private shelter in Hungary.

Chopper is handsome boy - expressive brown eyes and brown short length thick fur. He is very friendly and interested in the world. He loves going for a walk and then will settle down for a nap. He enjoys being around people, but is OK when he is left alone. At first it is not noticeable that Chopper is blind, and he seems to be able to sense some light. The vet said he has detached retina, but it is not known why.

Chopper is a lovely boy, he's good with people and other dogs. It is not known how he is with cats. It's unlikely that he has ever lived in a home before, currently he is in an outdoor kennel in the shelter. His rescuer is hoping he will find a loving home and get to experience all the home comforts he has missed out on.

Gorgeous Chopper 💫
Chopper is around 6 years old (as of September 2024), weighs 18kg and is blind. He is currently in private shelter in Hungary.

Chopper is handsome boy - expressive brown eyes and brown short length thick fur. He is very friendly and interested in the world. He loves going for a walk and then will settle down for a nap. He enjoys being around people, but is OK when he is left alone. At first it is not noticeable that Chopper is blind, and he seems to be able to sense some light. The vet said he has detached retina, but it is not known why.

Chopper is a lovely boy, he's good with people and other dogs. It is not known how he is with cats. It's unlikely that he has ever lived in a home before, currently he is in an outdoor kennel in the shelter. His rescuer is hoping he will find a loving home and get to experience all the home comforts he has missed out on.

Chopper is looking for a home where he is a member of the family. Where he gets lots of love and attention and can experience trust. Chopper would love a home with a garden as he enjoys being outdoors and would love to explore all the local dog walks.

Marvellous Model 💫
Model is about 10 years old (as of August 2024). He weighs 25kg, is neutered and is fully sighted. He is currently in private shelter in Serbia.

Model lived on the streets for a long time before he was rescued. Despite his age and background he is an active dog with a wonderful nature. Everyone who meets him is amazed at how wonderful his character is.

He is in good health. He is very cuddly and when approached for a stroke he will lie on his back, as he enjoys being petted.

He loves to play with a ball and toys. He can walk on a lead, enjoys walks and is good in cars. He is a very good boy - he doesn't bark, he doesn't destroy things and he is toilet trained.

Model is good with other dogs when out and about, but is best suited to being the only dog in the family. While he shows no trace of aggression, he can be dominant towards other male dogs. It is not known how he would behave with cats.

Model's rescuer is hoping he will find a lovely home with a comfy bed, where he gets lots of cuddles. Model would love a home with a garden where he can be a member of the family.

Model is best suited to living as an only dog or with a smaller female dog.

Lovely Leao ⭐️
Leao is around 8 years old (as of July 2024). He is neutered and weighs 20kgs. Leao is partially sighted and has reduced vision in his right eye. He has uveitis and is receiving ongoing treatment for ulcers in his left eye. He is currently in private shelter in Portugal.

Leao was rescued by the shelter in August 2021 from a hoarder situation with 26 other dogs and was in a poor condition.

He is a very sweet boy and loves people. He loves cuddles, tummy tickles, walking on lead, lounging around and enjoys treats. He is a firm favourite at the shelter and they try to spend as much time with him as possible. He is a people dog and finds the shelter a stressful place as he just wants to spend time with his carers, but with so many other dogs to look after, this is difficult.

Leao behaves well in public and when out on lead and will sit nicely at a café with his walker. He has no reactivity out in public and has gone on walks ignoring other dogs. He walks well on a lead. However, due to his previous experience he does not like to share his home with other dogs or cats. His rescuer understands that this makes it difficult to rehome him, but they keep trying because he is such a nice boy with adults and children.

Leo started having health issues in 2023 and takes medication for erythrocytosis which he should remain on. In February 2024 he had two tumours removed, one on his face which was benign, one on his chest which was level 1 malignant, but with the amount of the mass removed the hope is this will not return.

Due to his health the shelter is desperate to find him a home as they hope being in a clean, calm, loving, stress-free environment will help improve his overall health.

Leao would like to be your only pet. He would like someone who will spend a lot of time with him and take him on short to moderate walks. He is likely become a velcro dog who wants to be with his human, relaxing and watching the world go by. A home with a garden would be lovely but not essential.
