Lucky
Character
Please meet lovely Lucky. Lucky is 14 years old (as of August 2024), weighs 25kg and is blind.
Lucky is a typical golden oldie. He loves going for a gentle walk and then having a nap. He enjoys travelling in car and at first it is not noticeable that he is actually blind.
We do not know if Lucky has ever lived in a home. Lucky has had several owners who did not look after him and treated him poorly. His last owner left him abandoned in a garden. He is currently lives in an outdoor kennel at the shelter.
Due to his bad treatment and blindness, at the beginning he wasn't very friendly, but now he is a nice old dog. Lucky loves the people close to him, but is indifferent to strangers. He enjoys being with people but is okay if he is left alone.
Lucky gets on well with other dogs, but is not as playful as he was a couple of years ago. It is not known how Lucky behaves with cats.
Lucky has diabetes which caused his blindness. He needs regular feeding 4-5 times per day and receives insulin injections twice a day.
