Ellie

Sweet Ellie is around 2 years old (born 2022) and is partially sighted. This lovely girl weighs 15kgs and is currently in private shelter in Bosnia.

Ellie was found in December 2024 after being hit by a car. She had significant injuries with a broken pelvis and injured right eye. This brave girl was still standing and trying to survive on her own. Luckily she was taken to safety and received veterinary treatment – her pelvis has healed well but her eye couldn’t be saved and had to be removed.

Ellie has unique markings – a jet black head with just a smattering of white on her muzzle.  With her white body which has some black dapples, and her spotty front legs she is beautiful. But it’s her soulful eye that is just captivating.

Ellie is a gentle, quiet soul. She hasn’t lived in a home before but is good with people. Although she’s still a little timid, her confidence is growing and her tail is starting to wag. She is learning that people can be kind to her and she enjoys a gentle stroke.

Ellie can wear a collar and harness. She has been on a lead and is happy to wear a coat to keep her warm in the snow.  Ellie is good with other dogs. At the moment she is very quiet but it’s likely that as her confidence grows, she will become more playful and active.
