Photographers wanted

We are looking for keen photographers to help us to promote our foster dogs. We know that great photos are crucial for getting people to engage with our lovely foster dogs. But it's not always easy to photograph your dog and get it to pose too!

So, we would love to hear from you if you would be willing to spare a couple of hours to take some photos of some stunning dogs, creating interesting backgrounds. You would get to know some wonderful dogs and fosterers and you never know you might be tempted to adopt too...

The map below shows the postcode areas where we currently have fosters and are in need of assistance.

Brief

We are looking for images that capture the dog in a few different ways:

Whole dog
Dog close-ups
Dog interacting with people

Technical details:

All photos in JPG format
Please submit at full camera resolution - we will downscale as required
Aspect ratio: 16:9 (or 4:3 but not square)
All photos in LANDSCAPE format
Please don't crop images - we will crop if required
Images in full colour only (RGB colour space)
No watermarks, please; if you'd like to be credited please let us know and we can provide a link to your website if requested plus your name.
Don't add borders or any other embellishments

For whole dog photos, please do not completely fill the frame with the animal as social sharing cards may crop the top and bottom out.

Please avoid the following:

Animal too close to frame edge

Portrait; when this is cropped we'll have a head in some bars

Poorly lit, subject too close to (sofa), eyes reflecting flash

Portrait mode, animal too close to frame edge and not facing camera

Good examples:

Enough clear space around animal, whole dog in shot

Lovely photo of close-up with 'human interest'

Whole dog visible, facing camera, interacting with foster

Nice close-up photo (but please don't add borders and watermarks)

By participating with us and helping us capture fantastic photographs which we may use on the website, posters, printed literature, print media, both 'commercially' (calendars for sale) and non-commercially, you agree to licence all images to BDRUK under the Creative Commons Attribution (4.0) licence.
